Virgin Galactic’s Supersonic Rocket-Powered Flight Takes Space Seriously!

 

On January 10, 2014, the WhiteKnightTwo, Virgin Galactic’s beautiful “Carrier Aircraft” deployed SpaceShipTwo, a reusable space vehicle, where at an altitude of 46,000 feet, its rocket engine fired for only 20 seconds and propelled  her to the intended altitude of 71,000 feet – ¼ the distance to outer space.
