Unlimited Class – Taxing, Take offs, Fly Byes and Landings, Reno

In preparing for the races this year, much to my surprise, I stumbled across a few clips of Jimmy Leeward flying his beautiful P-51, the Galloping Ghost.  Captured with Jimmy are several other beautiful aircraft, like a T-28, a Yak, a Grumman Bearcat, a Corsair and several other awesome war birds.  Granted it’s footage from a prior year, but since the FAA will no longer allow photographers access to the ramp during the Unlimited race I thought I’d post these short clips.

I hope you enjoy this simple compilation of video shorts and engine sounds taken at the Reno National Championship Air Races.  I couldn’t resist creating something to remember Jimmy and his hauntingly beautiful Galloping Ghost.
